Introduction

Andros marine institute Pvt. (Ltd). Was born and affiliated with government of Pakistan in year 2000 & his management system is certified from bureau VERITAS on ISO 9001:2000 standards. Andros marine institute offers an adventurous with prospective of career planning for a bright future and global employment opportunities for the real professionals onboard ocean going merchant ships. Andros marine institute Pvt. (Ltd). Is to set to impart technical training in shipboard service to prepare seafarers and those who are already working on ships but lack proper institutive training/education in compliance to the international convention on standards of training and certification of seafarers 1978 as amended 1995/2010. When systematically trained Pakistani seafarers will open a new chapter in shipping industry and will serve the foreign shipping in a better an disciplined manner and will earn good name to Pakistan.

Aims & Objectives

  • To train fresh high school graduates for career in sea-faring as general purpose rating.
  • (GP-III) for employement in Merchant Marine Ships.
  • To Conduct up-gradation and conversion course for serving ratings to enhance their knowlegede for promotion and change of trade.
  • To Conduct Safety Cousrses, mandatory under the international Maritime Organization's (IMO's) Convention on "Standard of Training, Certification and Watch-Keeping" (STCW-1978 AS amended by the 1995 Convention/Code) for both officers and rating of Merchant Navy.
  • To Conduct other short courses as anad when required by the National Administration or Shipping Industry, to enhance the professional knowledge of both Officers and Ratings of the Merchant Navy.

Discipline

The institude places the highest importance on discipline, morals and espirit-de-corps Discipline, an essential ingredient of all organized activities, is the hallmark of a good seafarer Hence, great importance is attached to this aspect and a high standard of discipline is maintained. Further, in order to inculcate discipline, comradeship, devotion to duty and love for profeesion, trainees are required to abide by certain rules, therefore selected candidate will be sent a copy of code of conduct, for strict compliance during the course. Non compliance to any article of this code may result in expulsion of the defaulter from the course. the principal reserves the right of taking any measure including withdrawal from the institude or award of such punishment as deemed necessary in the interest off maintaining and enforcing discipline..

The human error onboard a vessel can be minimized and at times eliminated by correct quality of training. Today’s shipping industry attributes almost 80% of accidents to human error. With industry becoming more complex, greater concentration and efforts are required to develop solution to the problems. The concept behind establishment of Andros Marine Institute was to provide world class training to seafarers to meet the requirement.The continued research to meet ever increasing professional skills is the need for the day. Proper training scheme is crucial to success and underscores our sincerity to maintain high standards set by its members. Improving the human factor is key to these problems and the establishments of the Andros Marine Institute is with a view to face these challenges and minimize the human error. We are obliged to continue support to our seafarers and their employers to make ANDROS MARINE INSTITUTE a focal point of maritime studies and feel highly obliged for any advice which may be a help to improve our Institute.


GP-III

GP-III is a pre sea training for general purpose crew (GP-III/training) is conducted at Andros maritime institute. Located at the most convenient point of defence housing authority where public transport is available for the candidates/trainees, for and from all direction. This course is of six months duration and conducted twice each year, commencing in January and July. Admission form can be downloaded from download section. of six

OBJECTIVE

To train fresh secondary school graduates for adventurist career in sea-faring as general purpose rating (GP-III) for employment on merchant marine ships.






Egibility

The applicant should have passed their secondary school certificate (matric) or equivalent (O-level, GEC, etc.) examination. The applicant must be between 18 to 25 years of age on completion of the courses i.e. at the time of issuance of SSB. The applicant must be a citizen of Pakistan. The applicant must be medically fit.
